Youths, Betting and Unemployment…

This news rekindled an experience a few days back.

I was leisurely strolling to an ATM centre from the office. As I walked, my eyes kept beholding vacancy adverts at strategic areas – walls, fences, poles, office & shop exteriors. They were basic openings like: Office Manager, Sales Girl/ Boy, Graphic Designer, Computer Operator, Computer Instructor, School Teachers, etc. Looking at them, you would know they’ve been pasted for awhile. Just as my mind drifted to why such opportunities weren’t being filled by our teeming youths who scream “No Jobs” every time, I got to the front of a 9jaBet outlet and the place was filled to the brim with animated teens & youths, either staking a bet or checking for results, all wielding different smart phones.

I immediately smiled and minded my journey. Question answered!
